Terms of service

What this is
Skills is a free tool for writing and packaging agent skills, built and run by Matt Downey. By using it you agree to these terms. You need to be old enough to form a binding agreement where you live, and at least 13.
Your content
Skills you create are yours. Saving one to your account grants us only what is needed to store it and show it back to you. Nothing here transfers ownership to us.
Publishing and remixing
Publishing is optional, and it is the point at which a skill stops being private. When you publish, you give us permission to host the skill, show it on a public page, and let search engines index that page. You also allow anyone who finds it to read it, download it, and remix it, meaning copy it into their own account as the starting point for a skill of their own. You keep ownership throughout. Their edits are theirs.
Unpublishing takes the public page down and stops new copies. It cannot undo copies already made, downloads already taken, or pages a search engine has already cached. If that matters for a particular skill, do not publish it.
Only publish work you have the right to publish, and respect the terms of anything you remix.
AI suggestions
Some fields can call an AI model for a suggestion. Suggestions are shown to you and applied only if you accept them, they can be wrong, and they are not reviewed by us. What you keep becomes part of your skill and is your responsibility. We make no claim of ownership over AI-assisted text in your skill, and we cannot promise a suggestion is original or free of anyone else’s rights, so check anything you intend to publish.
Acceptable use
Use the service in good faith. Do not use it to distribute malware, to write instructions meant to cause harm, to infringe on others' rights, or to attempt to disrupt the service or other people's accounts. We may take down published skills that break these terms.
No warranty
The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. It is a personal project: features may change, and availability is not guaranteed. Export and keep copies of skills that matter to you. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost work, lost data, or any indirect losses arising from use of the service.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You can leave at any time; see the privacy policy for how deletion works.
Changes and contact
These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it. They are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Questions: contact@mattdowney.com.
